Domain Registration: Choose your DNS
If you are experienced in customizing domain name settings, then you may have clicked on the ling on the Submit page to change your DNS; this will bring up the following:
You are presented with six options.
- Default Gandi page: Using Gandi's default page “parks” the domain. The domain is created, but as of yet does nothing. You may configure your domain at a later date.
- Forwarded to this website URL: Forward the domain name to another web address will send anyone who types your domain name in the URL address bar in their web browser to another website. When you check that option, we give you a box where you can enter the URL of the target website.
- Zone file selection: You can chose from a list of zone files that you have created already under this handle (en:dns:zone:your-zones|how to create a zone file).
- Like the following domain name: Using the same settings as another domain will simply copy the other domain's configuration and apply it to this one.
- DNS provided by my web host: Using the DNS of your web host will allow you to do just that. When you select this option, we provide you with a form where you can enter the DNS of your provider;
- Secondary DNS hosted by Gandi (expert): You may use Gandi's secondary nameserver if you need one. When you choose this option we present you with a form where you can enter your DNS.
When you click “Submit”, you are taken back to the "Submit your order" page.
