Why doesn't the Flash file I created and uploaded work?
Whether you create them yourself or have them built for you, SiteMaker will accept external Flash files as long as they conform to some basic guidelines:
- The SWF must be running at 24 fps (frames per second)
- The file should be exported for Flash Player 7 or 8
- Replace any 'absolute' references to _root (in action script code) with 'relative' references (this, _parent etc)
- Mask any animation that goes outside the SWF boundary
- The generated Flash file must be a self-contained SWF and created using an 'acceptable' Flash generator
If you decide to have a Flash file built for you (i.e. by a Flash developer) then just ensure that they create the file following the above rules.
We cannot guarantee that any uploaded SWF will work with SiteMaker Software. It is the creator's responsibility to ensure that it conforms to our requirements and to test or verify that it works.
