How do I change my blog's name?

Go to your “Blog parameters” menu and modify the “Blog Title” field.

Why certain categories are not visible on my blog?

To make a category visible on your blog interface, you have to fill it with at least one entry.

How do I do to create accounts for other writers on my blog?

Henceforth, you can invite one or more editors on your blog in order to publish entries. You need to log into your blog control panel with the domain name owner's account.

Once you are in the blog administration area, click on the “News writer” link located in the “System” part. The new editor should have a Gandi account.

This Gandi account should be typed in capital letters (example: AR41-GANDI) in the appropriate field.

If you need to create an account, you must wait for a few minutes after the creation process to invite your new editor.

You will then be able to define the rights you wish to give to this editor. If you need to suppress an editor, you simply have to remove all rights from its blog account.

How do I insert an image or file into a blog entry?

There are two ways to add an image(or a file) to a blog entry: 1. Inserting an image that you have stored on your computer

A) UPLOADING THE IMAGE FILE

Before you can insert an image that is on your computer's hard drive into your blog, you must first upload the image to Gandi's server. To do this, after logging into your blog, go to “Media manager” which is in the left side bar.

Next, you can either add your image to the root directory, or you can create a new directory in which you can place your images (if you make a new directory, then the only difference is that you need to click on the folder icon to go to that directory before adding files).

To actually add an image to the directory so that you can post it in your blog entry, click on the blue button with the white cross (IE6 users, this button may be missing, but you can click on the empty space) that is left of “Add files”.

A small window will drop down, and click on the “Browse…” button to select the file (image) that you want to upload from your computer's hard drive. After this is done, give the image a Title by filling in the Title box.

(Clicking on “Private” will only make the image available for viewing if you enter the URL of the image into the URL bar).

Complete the process by clicking on “Send”.

B) ADDING THE IMAGE TO YOUR BLOG ENTRY

To add an image to your blog (eg. the one you just uploaded), you will use the “Image chooser” button. This is the 2nd button from the right that looks like a sunset over a mountain…

Select the image from the directory where you put it. You need to click on a folder icon to open a directory and see its contents.

Then, click on the photo that you want to add, and on the window that pops up, select the size that you want. If you click “As a link to original image”, a thumbnail will be added to your blog, and when your readers click on the image, a new window will pop up where you will be able to see the full image.

Click on “Insert Image” to complete the process. A line of code will then be added to your blog's entry, which will display the image when your readers look at the entry.

2. Inserting an image as a link to an image on another website

If the image that you want to post already exists on the internet, you may create a link to it (thus posting it in your entry, but without having to upload it to Gandi's server), click on the “External image” button (third from the right), and enter the image's URL in the little window that pops up.

A line of code will then be added to your blog's entry, which will display the image when your readers look at the entry.

How can I remove the "Read more .." part on my blog?

The entry editing interface proposes two fields for the typing of your text. The first one (Extract) is viewable on the blog main page followed by a link to the rest of the text. The second one () is where the rest of the text should be typed. If you type the whole text in the second field, the entire text will be available directly on your blog's main page.
