Create a public interface

During the creation of a server, the interface is automatically created and attached to it before it is started. You also have the possibility of creating additional interfaces in order to attach several of them to the same server. The maximum limit of interfaces that can be attached (public and private) is 4.

To create your interface, go to the “interfaces” tab, and then click the blue “Add an interface” button below. You will then be presented with the following fields:

• Location: The datacenter where your IP address will be created. You must chose the location depending on the datacenter where you want your server to be created. It is not possible to attach an interface created in the Paris datacenter to a server created in the Baltimore datacenter.

• Type: Public or Private. Public interfaces are accessible from the exterior. During the creation of the interface, you have a IPv4 and an IPv6 public IP interface.

• Bandwidth: The bandwidth defined the quantity of data that can transit via the interface. It is possible to define the bandwidth limit from 1Mb/s to 100Mb/s.

• Reverse DNS: This is the reverse resolution of the IP address to its name. If you do not define a reverse DNS, then we will give you one by default that will be in the form of: 'XX-xvm.ghst.net'.

• Server: The server that the interface will be attached to following its creation. If you do not define a server, the interface will remain available, and you can attach it to a server at a later date.
